The production system of Sinopec Luoyang Branch primarily consists of three segments: refining, petrochemicals, and chemical fibers. The refining segment includes an 8 million metric tons per year atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit, a 1.5 million metric tons per year crude oil flash unit, two 1.4 million metric tons per year heavy oil catalytic cracking units, an 800kt/a solvent deasphalting unit, and a 700kt/a continuous catalytic reforming unit.

This project utilizes the carbon-rich tail gas emitted from the carbon removal and regeneration process of the EO unit as feedstock to construct a 60kt/a high-purity food-grade carbon dioxide facility. The produced CO₂ will serve as feedstock for downstream electronic-grade carbonate production units, thereby achieving comprehensive resource utilization of CO₂. This aligns with the national “Dual Carbon” policy and truly realizes the resource utilization of CO₂. The project employs our company’s patented process, which includes advanced desulfurization, hydrocarbon removal and purification, and multi-stage distillation for purification, ensuring the product complies with the “GB 1886.228-2016 National Food Safety Standard: Food Additives—CO₂” and the “GB/T 23938-2021 Quality Standard for High-Purity CO₂.” The cooperation model involves providing a process package, proprietary equipment, and proprietary catalysts, with production expected to commence in May 2025.
