On August 16, 2011, a newly constructed 50kt/a liquid CO₂ unit at Hebei Dongguang Chemical Co., Ltd. began producing qualified industrial-grade product. After one month of stable operation, commissioning of the food-grade co-production unit commenced. Following the activation of the dehydrocarbonization catalyst through temperature increase, food-grade liquid CO₂ was produced on September 18, 2011. After several days of stable operation, analysis by the total hydrocarbon analyzer in the Quality Inspection Department of Hebei Dongguang Company showed that the total hydrocarbon content at the dehydrocarbonization outlet was <15 ppm, and the purity of the food-grade liquid CO₂ was >99.9%. All indicators met the Food-Grade Carbon Dioxide Standard (GB10621-2006), the International Soft Drink Association (ISBT) standard, and the corporate standards of Coca-Cola and PepsiCo.

Hebei Dongguang Chemical Co., Ltd. is a nitrogen fertilizer producer specializing in urea.
