(1) Successful Start-up of the 30kt/a Food-Grade Liquid Carbon Dioxide Production Unit at Fujian Shaowu Fertilizer Plant The 30kt/a food-grade liquid carbon dioxide production unit at Fujian Shaowu Fertilizer Plant, constructed by our company, was successfully commissioned in August 2008. The product purity was tested by the National Chemical Industry Gas Quality Supervision and Inspection Center and found to be 99.99%. and all other indicators fully meet the standards of the International Soft Drink Association (ISBT) and the national standard (GB10621-2006). The production unit is currently operating normally, with all consumption indicators meeting design requirements. It produces over 100 tons of food-grade liquid carbon dioxide daily, with stable performance indicators, and the product is in high demand in the market.

Large-scale application of our company’s internationally certified food-grade CO₂ units in the alcohol production industry

In late October of this year, the 60kt/a food-grade CO₂ production facility at Shandong Hongda Biotechnology Co., Ltd.—a large-scale, international-quality-standard food-grade CO₂ production unit designed and constructed by our company for the domestic ethanol industry—was successfully completed and commissioned. The facility achieved a successful first start-up, with all performance indicators meeting design requirements. Due to technical limitations, the ethanol plant previously discharged fermentation gas directly, which not only caused environmental pollution but also wasted a rich source of CO₂. By adopting our company’s domestically leading, internationally certified food-grade CO₂ production technology and patented equipment, the plant has reduced CO₂ emissions while increasing corporate profits.

Food-grade carbon dioxide products are eligible for national VAT preferential policies

To mitigate global warming, actively implement the Kyoto Protocol, further promote the comprehensive utilization of resources, and encourage energy conservation and emissions reduction across various industries, the State Administration of Taxation recently revised and adjusted the value-added tax (VAT) policies regarding products derived from the comprehensive utilization of resources, following approval by the State Council. The policy explicitly stipulates that “high-purity carbon dioxide products produced using industrial waste gas as raw material” are eligible for the VAT “collect-and-refund” preferential policy. Furthermore, such high-purity carbon dioxide products must comply with the relevant provisions of the national standard for liquid carbon dioxide as a food additive (GB 10621—2006).
